JOB DESCRIPTION – The Shift Community Co-ordinator

Charity: Business Launchpad                                     Location: Southwark

Part-time:  3 days a week                                            Duration: 3 months

Salary: London living wage – £10.55                         Start date: Sept 2019

Our mission at Business Launchpad is to transform young lives through enterprise. The Shift is a wellbeing and enterprise space located 2 minutes away from Bermondsey station.  The space has been co-created with young people to support those who are aged mainly between the ages 16-25.

We are looking for an excellent community co-ordinator who can work with the Project Development Manager and Wellbeing Coach.

This role would be ideal for someone who is reliable has strong organizational skills, has experience in the area of wellbeing and has experience of supporting a community of people to grow and thrive and is able to create social media content and deliver events.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage day to day enquiries for the space and induct new people.
  • To manage the space and ensure systems and processes are being followed
  • Manage the upkeep for the space and ensure that it is maintained to a high standard
  • To create a positive, welcoming and inclusive space
  • To support and organise outreach activities in the borough to engage young people
  • To coordinate and deliver events that engage and support the entrepreneur’s to connect to one another.
  • To help promote young people’s wellbeing and working with the Project Development Manager and Wellbeing officer to help them to find additional support should they need it
  • To manage the social media for the Shift
  • To support with administration roles following events and process feedback

Skills

  • Proactive team player who has experience of delivering events and has excellent communication skills
  • Has experience of creating and nurturing a sense of community and working with young people – some who may have complex needs
  • Organised planner who can prioritise work load and admin roles

 

  • Innovator – someone who can find different ways of doing thing and uses their initiative to test it
  • Confident in creating social media content
